A52 – Update

Monday 12th – Friday 16th August

Off-peak lane closure on the A52 eastbound carriageway, from 9.30am to 3.30pm each weekday, from Monday 12th – Friday 16th August.

The inside lane will be closed between Pentagon Island and Wyvern whilst safety barrier works continue.


Monday 19th August – Friday 23rd August

There will be the following overnight closures on the westbound and eastbound carriageways, to allow for the installation of the safety barrier and signage works.


8.00pm – 6.00am – Westbound closures (from 11.00pm on Tuesday 20th August, due to DCFC game)

Westbound carriageway will be closed from Raynesway to Pentagon Island

Diversion route – Raynesway, Derby Road, Nottingham Road.


10.00pm – 6.00am – Eastbound closures (from 11pm on Tuesday 20th August, due to DCFC game)

Eastbound carriageway will be closed from Pentagon Island to Raynesway, including eastbound on-slip at Wyvern

Diversion route – Nottingham Road, Derby Road for eastbound closure, and Derwent Parade, Pride Parkway, Holmes Bridge, East Gate, Pentagon Island, Nottingham Road, Derby Road for the on-slip closure.


The road will be re-opened earlier if works are completed ahead of the scheduled times.


Reopening of slip road

The westbound off-slip road on to the Wyvern is due to reopen on Monday 9th September.


Also, to make you aware, there are provisional dates booked in for surfacing works on the A52.  These are currently scheduled as follows:


2nd – 13th September

Overnight closures on the westbound carriageway, from Raynesway to Pentagon Island.


16th – 27th September

Overnight closures on the eastbound carriageway, from Pentagon Island to Raynesway.


The closures will run from 8.00pm until 6.00am each day.  Diversions will be in place, and more details will be issued once these works have been confirmed.
